Kelenföld Control Room
Tickets can be purchased at the Budapest Autumn Festival customer service exclusively in advance.
Budapest is a good place for rambling. And if you don’t simply follow the routes recommended by the guidebooks to visit the tourist sights, it can be very exciting too. Thanks to the Contemporary Architecture Centre [KÉK], those interested in architecture and the history of the city can satisfy their curiosity and thirst for culture this year with visits to two out-of-the-way places. The two venues are in a similar state and situation: run down and inaccessible to the average person. One is the Kelenföld Power Plant, a group of buildings including the legendary control room of the transformer house with its opal glass ceiling. On the guided [in Hungarian walk participants can learn about the history and construction of these two architectural curiosities, then at the end of the tour enjoy a dance performance or a contemporary music production created for the unusual venue.
Co-organized with the Contemporary Architecture Centre.
