Rider Spoke is a combination of a live video show, improvisational theatre and a kind of post-modern confession ceremony. The internationally acknowledged art group, Blast Theory is known as having pointed to the peculiarities of our media governed world in several past performances of an unclassifiable genre. Their latest project that drew enormous public success and a serious press response when presented in the Barbican Centre in London last year invites the public to re-discover the city as well as themselves. The participants ride bicycles equipped with small on-board computers [cell phones with GPS navigators], looking for given shelters in the streets of the inner city. Having found the shelter by having followed the instructions received through an earphone, the players can decide whether to listen to the story of another rider, or, in answer to questions, tell their own story. Then they ride on in search of the next place marked out for them to tell or listen to another venue-related story.
